Seaside Antique Federal Restoration

An old-world French inspired restoration of an 1819 Federalist home reflecting its history when interior design changed in reaction to the overthrow of the crown, from English décor to French influences with the local elite importing French wall coverings and textiles. The areas’ finest restoration craftsmen were enlisted to bring the restoration and addition to its rightful historical beauty. The entire house lot required new landscaping including new fencing, brick, bluestone and granite posts made from sourced granite from Boston's Big Dig complete with underground electric for exterior lighting. The chef's kitchen features reclaimed soapstone counters an antique slate sink, custom ironwork, a Lacanche stove and restored antique French light fixtures.
