The original home was lovingly built by the homeowner on weekends over the many years of working in Boston. Now that they are approaching retirement, a home base and an expanding family, they need to expand their traditional lake house living space. Including a barn and garden for aspiring homesteaders, the homeowners enlisted the help of an architect, interior home and kitchen designers, and local builder.

The result is a blend in traditional and contemporary design. The original structure boasts new finishes, furnishings and art that are more contemporary and the new addition uses colors, texture and furnishings pulled from the original house.
